  112. echo    ║       QBALL.DOC  will print  with enough margin  to permit punching  ║
  113. echo    ║  the pages to fit a 3-ring binder.   Set your printer to 'left mar-  ║
  114. echo    ║  gin = 0', 10 CPI, and do not enable 'skip perforations;' formfeeds  ║
  115. echo    ║  are built in.  There are two *.DOC files:  one prints the odd-num-  ║
  116. echo    ║  bered pages; the other, the even-numbered pages.  Print the odd     ║
  117. echo    ║  numbers first.  Enter:                                              ║
  118. echo    ║                         COPY QBALLODD.DOC PRN                        ║
  119. echo    ║                                               and when the last odd  ║
  120. echo    ║  page has printed, flip the paper, ensuring that you're printing on  ║
  121. echo    ║  the back of the title page, and enter:                              ║
  122. echo    ║                         COPY QBALLEVN.DOC PRN                        ║
  123. echo    ║                                   to print the even-numbered pages.  ║
  124. echo    ║  You'll need 50 sheets of fanfold paper  and  1½ hours for the job.  ║
  125. echo    ║  You may use single sheets; reverse the sheet order for even pages.  ║

  138. echo    ║       While QBALL will run from floppies - 720K, 1.2M, or 1.44M -    ║
  139. echo    ║  any file write/retrieve operations are S-L-O-O-W.  360K disks are   ║
  140. echo    ║  NOT usable; QBALL.EXE v3.10 will NOT fit on one 360!                ║
  141. echo    ║       If you must install QBALL on floppy disks, high-density for-   ║
  142. echo    ║  mat is very much preferred.  Using 720's will severely limit what   ║
  143. echo    ║  you can do with QBALL.                                              ║
  144. echo    ║                                                                      ║
  145. echo    ║       Two ways to speed QBALL's operation in file write/retrieve:    ║
  146. echo    ║           1)  Run QBALL from its own directory on a hard disk; or,   ║
  147. echo    ║           2)  If you can afford the RAM, run QBALL from a RAM disk.  ║
  148. echo    ║                                                                      ║
  149. echo    ║       Use of a 500K RAM disk will allow QBALL to go lickety-split!   ║
  150. echo    ║  There's no improvement in the internal workin's -- they're all in   ║
  151. echo    ║  memory anyway -- but external operations are so fast that they're   ║
  152. echo    ║  downright nervous.  Again, note that there probably won't be room   ║
  153. echo    ║  enough on your RAM disk to save range tables. (See your DOS docu-   ║
  154. echo    ║  mentation under RAMDISK or VDISK for details about RAM disks.)      ║
